Welcome to the VTA!
The Vancouver Tennis Association (VTA) is a non-profit tennis organization which fosters and promotes goodwill, fellowship, and healthy competition among tennis players in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) community.
With about 150+ active members, the VTA is one of the most popular LGBTQ+ sporting organizations in Vancouver. This year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary!!
The VTA is a member club of the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) which is the international organization that manages and sanctions the many gay tennis events around the world in US, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
The VTA is run by a group of volunteers and has many tennis programs. During the spring and summer season, we have several weekly doubles play sessions at Stanley Park grouped by skill levels. In the fall and winter we run a weekly doubles indoor play session, as well as a weekly competitive team tennis league. We have a very popular singles ladder. We have several big social events throughout the year. We also put on several club tournaments every year and host the GLTA-sanctioned Vancouver International Pride (VIP) tournament which attract players from around the world to play in during the Vancouver Pride long weekend.
VTA is also a Tennis BC “Gold Full Member Club”. That means when you sign up for the VTA ($50/$30) you would be able to get your Tennis BC membership at a subsidized rate of $25, instead of $47.
